Best Team Performances, Feb 10: Vitoria score seven in Portugal, Frankfurt demolish Augsburg

The best team performance of this weekend's action came from the Primeira Liga in Portugal as Vitoria SC put seven past Famalicao to end their losing run.

It was, naturally, a dominating performance from start to finish as they scored with just five minutes on the clock through Bruno Duarte.

They would go on to score six more via Joao Teixeira (2), Marcus Edwards (2), Pepe, and Davidson da Luz.

Teixeira was the best player on the pitch after his two goals and assist, while he also played a part in the fourth with a brilliantly clever dummy.

They had 19 shots on goal, 10 of which were on target, showing they were quite simple miles more ruthless than their opponents.

The rest of the stats would suggest an even game as Vitoria only enjoyed a majority of 52% possession and 20 more passes than the home side.

Eintracht Frankfurt moved up to ninth in the Bundesliga table after beating Augsburg 5-0.

They had 59% possession in the game and controlled things from the start, and although it took them a while to score their first in the 37th minute through a cracking Timothy Chandler strike, the goals came quck thereafter.

Chandler would get another, as would Andre Silva, while Filip Kostic continued his magnificent recent form with another couple of goals.

They outdone Augsburg in nearly every area whether it be creatively or defensively. They made more passes, had more touches, and sent in more crosses.

But, they also won more tackles and won more aerial duels.

After a torrid run, Basel needed some inspiration against FC Zurich and they got in in the form of Fabian Frei, who scored a hat trick (two with his right foot, one with his left) to see them to a 4-0 win.

To settle any potential nerves, their first goal was scored in the very first minute, which allowed them to dominate proceedings thereafter with the majority of possession and 444 passes to 411.

The next three goals would come at opportune times, too, with them going in on 46 minutes, 80 minutes, and 84 minutes.

While the four-goal haul is impressive, they were solid defensively, too, as they held FC Zurich to a single shot on target in the whole 90 minutes.
