Bundesliga Team of the Week, Round 16: Quaison leads attacking line-up

Martin Macdonald

Sometimes it is necessary for FootballCritic to take some creative license with our Team of the Week features, as it would appear that no central midfielder was the star of any of the games in this week's midweek action in the Bundesliga!

With that in mind, we've gone for a slightly attacking line-up with three wingers in the centre of midfield. Deal with it.

Leading the attack is Robin Quaison (9.5) who scored a hat-trick for Mainz. He is joined by Timo Werner (8.5) who bagged two in RB Leipzig's 3-3 draw with Dortmund, and Lars Stindl (8.5), who scored a penalty for Gladbach.

The central midfield bruisers consist of Serge Gnabry (8.5), Jadon Sancho (8.2), and Jean-Paul Boetius (8.4).

Augsburg beat Dusseldorf 3-0, with Philipp Max (8.9) scoring two and Tin Jedvaj (8.6) bulleting in a header, while the clean sheet gained also boosts their rating.

Joining the Croatian in the centre of defence is Tony Jantschke (8.5) of Gladbach, while Kevin Mbabu (7.6) slots in at right-back.

In goal, Rune Jarstein (8.9) was superb for Hertha as he made seven saves to keep hold of the 1-0 lead against Leverkusen.
