Koeman plans three changes - How Barcelona could line up against Valencia

Ronald Koeman is likely to retain most of the starting XI that featured in the shocking 2-1 loss to Granada in midweek. However, some changes are expected to be made.

The Blaugrana took the lead through Lionel Messi in the first half, only for Granada to strike twice in the second half and put a huge dent in their title hopes.

Barcelona thus remained two points behind league leaders Atletico Madrid ahead of the weekend.

Barca boss Koeman is expected to make the odd change. Samuel Umtiti is expected to drop to the bench, to be replaced by Clement Lenglet.

Elsewhere, Sergi Roberto will likely lose his place in the starting XI to Sergino Dest. Ilaix Moriba started in midfield against Granada, but the youngster is likely to be dropped for a returning Pedri.

Long-term injury casualties Ansu Fati and Philippe Coutinho are still out, whilst Martin Braithwaite is also out.

In goal, Marc Ter Stegen will retain his place. The German goalkeeper will be protected by Gerard Pique, Clement Lenglet and Oscar Mingueza.

Koeman is likely to start Frenkie De Jong, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, Pedri and Dest in a five-man midfield for the trip to Valencia.

In attack, Ousmane Dembele will once again have to be content with a place on the bench.

Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann will lead the line.
