Sheffield United 0-3 Arsenal Player Ratings: All about Lacazette

Paul Macdonald

Arsenal were given an all too easy evening by Sheffield United as the Gunners ran out easy 3-0 winners in the Premier League.

Two great goals by Alexandre Lacazette and another from Gabriel Martinelli were enough for a straightforward three points for Mikel Arteta's men.

But which players stood out most?

✔️ Gabriel Martinelli: 7.0

Martinelli has had a tough season.

His momentum has been blighted by a succession of injuries, but when he is available he gives another option and here he used the minutes he was given to get on the scoresheet.

Nicolas Pepe's low shot fell into his path for the most straightforward of finishes.

❌ John Lundstram: 5.3

It wasn't an evening to remember for Sheffield United - indeed, it's not been a season with anything of merit.

And an Arsenal team who had played on Thursday were able to easily play through them, with Lundstram one of those unable to lay a glove on the Gunners.

He won no duels, no tackles and didn't make an interception or a clearance in the contest. It's not clear what he provided - if anything.

⭐ Alexandre Lacazette: 8.8

Much has been said over what will happen with Alexandre Lacazette at the end of the season, but until then he is still proving his worth to Arsenal.

He scored his 14th goal of the season in brilliant style, combining with Bukayo Saka and Dani Ceballos to slot home past the goalkeeper, before showing composure to add another five minutes from time.

Much is made of Lacazette's lack of contribution but this was a performance where he worked hard for the team as well as providing a threat. He had four shots in total, two on target, as well as winning five of his eight duels.

Whether he remains at Arsenal for the long-term is questionable, but he will still be of value as a finisher to whoever picks him up.
