Aguero to start? How Manchester City could line up against Leeds United

Pep Guardiola will hope the strength of his Manchester City side will allow him to heavily rotate his squad against Leeds United and still keep enough in reserve for their midweek clash against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Although the Spanish head coach has no serious injuries to contend with, he’ll certainly hope his back up players can match expectations and overcome a tricky Leeds team on Saturday.

In defence we’re likely to see Guardiola stick with Kyle Walker on the right and Ruben Dias in the middle, but we may then see Aymeric Laporte come back into the side at centre back and Benjamin Mendy at left-back.

Similarly, defence may see a notable shake up in personnel with Fernandinho starting in his preferred defensive midfield role, alongside Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva, as Kevin de Bruyne is rested ahead of the midweek European tie.

Despite announcing his intentions to leave the club at the end of the season, Sergio Aguero should come back into the starting XI to lead the line, with Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling joining in up front.

This would naturally mean a rest of the likes of Rordri, Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez ahead of the coming Dortmund clash.
