Rashford to start? How Manchester United could line up against Brighton

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping his side can hit the ground running as they get back to domestic duties against Brighton on Sunday.

However, if the Old Trafford side are to win this tricky home tie they may have to rely on the imagination of their manager as he looks to overcome a number of notable injuries in his squad.

In defence Solskjaer should feel reasonably comfortable, with minimal injuries to Phil Jones and Victor Lindelof forcing the Man Utd manager into a back line of Luka Shaw, Harry Maguire, Eric Bailly and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, in front of David De Gea in goals.

Vital minutes for the French national team during the international break means Paul Pogba should be fit to start and will likely take the place of Scott McTominay to start alongside Fred. Bruno Fernandes will almost certainly take up his typical role in the No.10 position.

The trouble for Man Utd starts up front, with Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial all still down as doubtful for this tie.

This will almost certainly mean a start for Daniel James on the right wing, with Solskjaer likely turning to Cavani to play through the fitness barrier and start up front. Similarly, Rashford may also be tasked with starting despite not being at full fitness.
