La Liga Team of the Week, Round 13: Magnificent Messi the standout

The star of the show in this week's round of Liga action was Lionel Messi (10), who was sensational as Barcelona defeated Celta 4-1. The maestro scored a hat-trick of dead balls, with a penalty followed by two almost identical free-kicks from around 25 yards. His exploits earned him a perfect 10.

Beside him in the forward three is Vitolo (8.7), who assisted a goal for Alvaro Morata in Atletico's win over Espanyol. He should have had more as he created two additional 'big' goalscoring chances, only for his team-mates to pass up the opportunies. Karim Benzema (8.6) gets in thanks to his two goals in Real Madrid's victory over Eibar.

Rare goals from Sergio Busquets (8.2), Tomas Pina (8.1), and Mikel Merino (8.3) complement their usual control of the ball, which bumps up their rating.

The likes of Jasper Cillessen (8) and Sergio Ramos (8.4) are boosted by their clean sheets, with the Real Madrid captain also scoring versus Eibar.
