Mane, Salah, Firmino back together - How Liverpool could line up against Tottenham

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is set to release Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, and Roberto Firmino versus Tottenham when the two teams clash in the Premier League on Thursday evening.

In Liverpool's two most recent matches - losses against Burnley in the league and Man Utd in the FA Cup - the trio has been split it up from the start.

Against Burnley, Salah and Firmino were rested from the starting XI, while Mane was on the bench for the defeat against Man Utd on Sunday.

After a barren spell in front of goal, Salah scored two against Man Utd with Firmino superbly setting up both, meaning those two are gaining in confidence. Mane should be raring to go to rejoin his partners in crime up top versus Spurs.

The defending champions do obviously still have a number of issues further back, though, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez still long-term absentees.

That will likely mean another central defensive pairing of Joel Matip and Fabinho, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson either side. Matip was left out of the Man Utd game as a precaution but should be fine to return for league duty.

Crucially, Jordan Henderson is set to be available again after missing the losses versus Burnley and the Red Devils. He had been suffering from a muscle issue, but Jurgen Klopp is hopeful that he will make the Spurs game.

If he is fit to start, it should be a midfield of him alongside Thiago and Gini Wijnaldum.

Jose Mourinho made a raft of changes for their FA Cup tie against Wycombe, with a number of first-team players set to return against Liverpool.

Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, Hugo Lloris, Tanguy Ndombele, Sergio Regulon, Steven Bergwijn, Serge Aurier, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are all expected to be restored to the starting XI.
