Bundesliga Team of the Week, Round 13: Burki heroics not enough to save Dortmund

Dortmund lost further ground in the Bundesliga title race on Wednesday after being defeated 2-1 by rivals Leverkusen.

The worrying thing for Edin Terzic is that the scoreline could have been much, much bigger in favour of Leverkusen as they had no less than 13 shots on target.

Luckily for Dortmund, they could rely on Roman Burki (8.8) to keep the scoreline low as the goalkeeper made an outstanding 11 saves on the night. Unfortunately for him, he would still emerge on the losing side.

Burki was by no means perfect, though, as his handling wasn't great on occasion, putting some of his saves back into the danger area.

The leading player in the Bundesliga Team of the Week is Nico Elvedi (8.9), who proved to be Gladbach's match winner in the 1-0 victory against Werder Bremen. He also completed 74/80 attempted passes and had 96 touches.

Leading the line is Andrej Kramaric (8.7), who scored two for Hoffenheim in the impressive 3-0 away victory versus Hertha, and Moussa Diaby (8.8), who was Dortmund's scourge with a goal and an assist.

Suat Serdar (8.1) earns his place after an assist for Schalke.

Florian Wirtz (8.6) continues to more than make up for the departure of Kai Havertz at Leverkusen as it was he who scored the winner against Dortmund with a lashed strike into the bottom left corner. It looks like he is going to be a special player.

Joining him in midfield are Maximilian Arnold (8.2) and Christoph Baumgartner (8.2).

RB Leipzig got back to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 victory against Union Berlin, and the clean sheet earned puts Dayot Upamecano (8.2) and Marcel Halstenberg (7.9) into the Team of the Week.

Both of them had the two highest tallies for touches of the ball this midweek with 145 and 131 respectively.

Only one Bayern player features this week, with Benjamin Pavard (7.6) slotting in at right-back.
