NDombele's ability to hold onto the ball and progress his side up the pitch is so valuable to how Tottenham set up now, and the former Lyon man did that well again.

He also won 1/2 tackles, 3/5 duels, as well as making two interceptions and five recoveries.

62': And on 62 minutes he produced the moment of the match, latching onto a ball into the area to hook an effort across goal and into the far corner. It's not 100% clear whether he meant it, but if he did, it's one of the goals of the season.

NDombele was equally dynamic - even if Tottenham weren't - in the disappointing 1-1 draw with Fulham in midweek, recording an 7.7 FC Rating for his efforts.

Tanguy NDombele: What Next?

NDombele just needs to keep doing what he is doing. He has earned the trust of Mourinho with his performances and the pairing with him and Pierre Emile Hojbjerg in central midfield is working really well.

Hojbjerg is neat and tidy and allows NDombele to do what he is good at, taking the ball forward and breaking to support the attack. Spurs have balance when he is in the side, and, finally, the wonderful player from Lyon is showing what he can do in the Premier League.
