Crawley Town 3-0 Leeds United, Player Ratings: Bielsa's boys battered in shock cup exit

Paul Macdonald

Leeds' much-changed side suffered one of the biggest giant-killings of this round of the FA Cup, going down 3-0 to League Two Crawley Town.

Leeds were never in the contest and went down comprehensively thanks to three second-half goals.

So who were the best and worst players on the pitch?

BAD PERFORMANCE

Kiko Casilla: 5.4

The former Real Madrid team has been frozen out of the team under Marcelo Bielsa this season and it really showed here.

Casilla was particularly at fault for the second goal, allowing a tame shot to sneak inside his near post and gift Crawley the goal that shifted the game in their favour.

He looked decidedly shaky beyond that and he will not be replacing Ilhan Meslier in the starting XI in the Premier League any time soon.

Kalvin Phillips: 5.8

Phillips is one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League but he showed here that moving into a defensive role moves him right out of his comfort zone.

He didn't enjoy a single minute of this, winning just six of his 15 duels in the contest and overall was given a rough ride by the physical front pairing from the home team.

After his performance against Manchester United in the recent 6-2 loss, it's been a tough period for Phillips, but he'll bounce back.

STAR MAN

Jordan Tunnicliffe 7.9

Tunnicliffe was a defensive colossus who gave Leeds virtually nothing to work with in the final third.

His stats show just how dominant he was, winning 5.6 aerial battels and 6/7 duels. He also won the only tackle he attempted in the match.

And he polished off a glorious victory by reacting quickest inside the area to lash the ball into Casilla's net from close range, putting the icing on the cake of a famous afternoon.
