Hernandez in, Davies out? How Bayern could line-up against Gladbach

Bayern head coach Hansi Flick has near enough a full squad to choose from for this Friday's huge Bundesliga fixture against Gladbach.

At the moment, only youngsters Joshua Zirkzee and Tanguy Nianzou are unavailable for selection, which gives Flick options in every position for the Gladbach game.

One alteration he may think about making could be Lucas Hernandez coming in at left-back in place of Alphonso Davies, who fought back superbly to return in December after injuring his ankle ligaments in October.

Leon Goretzka is still fighting to get back to full fitness after a muscle issue, but came on at half-time to help change the game against Mainz at the weekend, so he will likely come in for Corentin Tolisso.

Bayern actually went into the break 2-0 down in that fixture, but ended up pulling off a storming comeback to win 5-2 thanks to Joshua Kimmich, Niklas Sule, Leroy Sane, and a double from star striker Robert Lewandowski.

Kingsley Coman missed the Mainz game due to an injury collected in the win versus Leverkusen, but Flick confirmed this week that he should be available for selection against Gladbach after returning to full training.

Still, Flick may opt with the same attacking midfield trio of Thomas Muller, Serge Gnabry, and Sane that started against Mainz.

Lewandowski will, of course, start up top.

In defence, expect Jerome Boateng to be taken out of the starting XI, with Sule coming in at centre-back alongside David Alaba, with Benjamin Pavard at right-back.

Boateng looked out-of-sorts against Mainz, and it was only after he went off at half-time that Bayern staged their dramatic comeback.
