Xhaka, Partey and Bellerin out - How Arsenal could line-up against Southampton

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be under a huge amount of pressure to get his team back to winning ways when they welcome Southampton to the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening.

However, as if turning the club’s form around wasn’t hard enough, the young manager will also have to contend with a number of injuries and suspensions in key areas.

In defence, Arteta will most likely still be without David Luiz and Sead Kolasinac, along with Hector Bellerin who will now have to serve a one-match ban after picking up a fifth yellow card in the Premier League.

The Arsenal manager will face a similar issue in the middle of the park too, where Thomas Partey is still ruled out through injury after going off against Tottenham Hotspur. Similarly, Arteta will now be without Grant Xhaka for three games following his straight red card against Burnley on Sunday.

Some good news for Arsenal may come in the form of Nicolas Pepe. The Ivorian winger returns from his own suspension in the Premier League after some solid performances in the Europa League and will unquestionably be desperate to make up for lost time.
