Leon Bailey impresses Premier League suitors to make Bundesliga Team of the Week

Leon Bailey was the best player of the Bundesliga weekend as he helped Leverkusen leapfrog Bayern to the top of the table with an impressive 4-1 home win against Hoffenheim.

Bailey (9.1) scored the opening two goals to further enhance his reputation ahead of the January transfer window, with multiple sides from the Premier League reportedly ready to make a play for his signature.

He actually only attempted 21 passes during his time on the pitch, but did complete 20 of those.

Joining him in attack is Wout Weghorst (8.2), whose marvellous recent goalscoring form continued with a double for Wolfsburg in the 2-1 home win against Eintracht Frankfurt.

The most shocking result of the weekend saw Stuttgart demolish Dortmund 5-1 away from home - a result which ultimately cost Lucien Favre his job as head coach of BVB.

Silas Wamangituka (8.1) helped himself to two goals against the ragged Dortmund defence.

Wolfsburg and Stuttgart have representatives in midfield, too, with Xaver Schlager (8.2) and Orel Mangala (8.2) impressing against Frankfurt and Dortmund respectively.

Matteo Guendouzi (8.1) makes up the midfield three after his magnificent goal for Hertha as the capital club drew 1-1 away at Gladbach.

RB Leipzig beat Werder Bremen 2-0, with Dayot Upamecano (8.2) excellent at the back. Only Jonathan Tah completed more passes than the Frenchman in this round of fixtures, with 95 to 92.

Edmond Tapsoba (7.8) joins him in the centre of defence.

Raphael Guerreiro (7.6) was the only Dortmund player to leave the game with an element of respectability, and features at left-back, with Matthias Ginter (7.7) on the opposite flank.

Timo Horn (7.6) makes the cut in goal after his four saves were key in Koln's clean sheet in the 1-0 away win at Mainz.
