Crystal Palace 1-1 Tottenham, Player Ratings: Kane scores but Spurs denied

Paul Macdonald

Tottenham kept up their excellent form this season but were made to work hard in the second half by Crystal Palace on the way to a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park after being denied near the end.

Hueng-Min Son and Harry Kane combined for their 12th goal of the season - only Chris Sutton and Alan Shearer in 1994/95 combined for more.

But how were the performances overall?

✔️ GOOD PERFORMANCE

Harry Kane: 7.2

Kane once again looked to have made the difference for his team linking with Son. In the first half the Korean laid the ball off and Kane smashed into the net from long-range to give Spurs a lead they clung onto for a long time.

After Palace equalised Kane once again came to the fore but couldn't quite convert a close-range header, brilliantly saved by Vicente Guaita, and ultimately he and his team were denied.

BAD PERFORMANCE

Serge Aurier: 5.8

Palace's route back into the game came down Spurs' right-hand side, where Wilfried Zaha gave Aurier a difficult time.

Aurier was able to win just a single duel out of seven whilst being hugely wasteful in possession, losing the ball a game-high 22 times. He also didn't offer much in the attacking third either despite attempting six crosses.

STAR MAN

Moussa Sissoko: 7.5

The midfielder continues to be a vital part of the Spurs team under Jose Mourinho and once again he did everything asked of him in the midfield pivot.

Sissoko made a huge 14 recoveries as well as winning 4/4 tackles and 8/11 duels. Put simply, hardly anything got past the Frenchman in the centre of the pitch and it was a typically brilliant attempt at stopping the game.
