Harvey Elliott: Player Rating and Performance versus Norwich

Robin Bairner

On-loan Liverpool winger Harvey Elliott is creating quite a buzz at Blackburn Rovers this season and continue to add to his burgeoning reputation as he scored a fine solo goal in a 2-1 loss against Norwich.

Elliot was one of the brightest players in the first half, although he was unable to inspire the opening goal from his side.

After eight minutes, he bent a left-footed shot just past the post as Rovers started well, while he also set up a big chance for Sam Gallagher midway through the opening period only for the striker to ha over. Norwich took the lead four minutes later.

⏱️ 59' Elliott levels the match with a moment of wing wizardry. He collects the ball on the right flank, cuts inside the full-back, making a challenge impossible, then drives into the box, where he nutmegs another defender. From a tight angle, he finishes confidently.

Full of confidence, the winger thumps another effort at goal but it is saved. Shortly afterward, Teemu Pukki nets Norwich’s winner.
