European Goals of the Week, Oct 22: Nainggolan missile could be goal of the season

5. DODI DOES BREMEN

Dodi Lukebakio arrived at Hertha with a big fee attached this summer but has been in and out of the side so far. But against Werder Bremen he burst off the bench and scored a superb goal, weaving his way inside from the touchline, holding off two defenders before arrowing his shot across the goalkeeper with precision, in off the far post. He'll be hoping his strike was enough to see him start more matches. The Bundesliga are still somewhat backward about sharing videos online, so you'll have to take our word for it on this one - it's a great goal.

4. BULTER'S SKILL, THEN SMASH

Union Berlin have performed to a higher standard than perhaps most expected upon their promotion to the Bundesliga. With their superb support behind them they have already claimed the scalp of Dortmund and at the weekend they were superb in victory against Freiburg, with Marius Bulter's fantastic goal in the opening minute a real highlight of the weekend. He flicks the ball over the defender before unleashing a wonderful strike into the far corner, sending the fans wild.

3. PAREJO SOMEHOW FINDS THE CORNER

Atletico Madrid keeper Jan Oblak was superb in this game, making a series of outstanding blocks, so it is testament to the quality of the free-kick from Dani Parejo that he was able to find the top corner. Watch the kick again - it starts off on a conventional arc then suddenly at the last second seems to swerve in the opposition direction, giving Oblak absolutely no chance. A special kick from a consistently special player.

2. DI MARIA'S DINK

With injury befalling the likes of Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe at the start of the season, Angel Di Maria has been able to step up for PSG, and he's done so in superb style. After his destruction of Real Madrid in the Champions League, he's also been one of the best players in Ligue 1 so far and the second of his two goals against Nice was sublime, lobbing exquisitely over the goalkeeper from nearly on the goal line. A thing of beauty.

1. RADJA'S ROCKET

You will go a long way to see a ball hit more powerfully, and more accurately, than Radja Nainggolan's unreal strike for Cagliari against SPAL. Collecting the ball on his chest at the edge of the box, he catches it so sweetly on the bounce, and the ball flies from his boot, inexorably making its way to the top corner, clipping the inside of the post on the way in. As far as long-range strikes go, it will be hard to beat this season.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

Make a point of searching out Athletic's Inaki Williams showing strength, pace and composure to beat Valladolid single-handedly, while Manchester City's marvellous team goal was concluded by Raheem Sterling scooping into David Silva, who volleys into the net.
