Inter 0-2 Real Madrid, Player Ratings: Hazard and Kroos shine as Inter struggle

Emmet Gates

Real Madrid recorded a crucial 2-0 victory against a poor Inter at San Siro, a defeat that leaves Antonio Conte's men on the verge of elimination at this stage for the second year running.

But who were the best and worst performers?

✔️ GOOD PERFORMANCE

Inter vs Real Madrid: Player Stats

Eden Hazard: 7.7

The Belgian has struggled for form since joining Real Madrid from Chelsea 16 months ago, but this was one of his better performances. Hazard's drive and dribbling caused all sorts of problems for the Inter rearguard, and he calmly converted a penalty to give the away side the lead early in the game.

BAD PERFORMANCE

Arturo Vidal: 5.1

The Chilean midfielder produced a car crash of a display against the Spanish side. Vidal was more reckless than usual, and was sent off after receiving a double booking within a minute of each other near the end of the first half.

Antonio Conte expected better from the former Juventus midfielder, but it's been fairly evident for years that Vidal isn't the same dynamic player he was during his time in Turin.

Vidal's early red card changed the course of the game, leaving Inter to chase shadows for the remaining 55 minutes.

STAR MAN

Toni Kroos: 8.2

Toni Kroos produced a dominating display in the middle of the park for Los Blancos. The German midfielder has been slowly getting back to his brilliant best this season, and was critical to keep the Spanish side's tempo throughout the 90 minutes.

Kroos finished the game with an absurd pass completion rate of 98% from 129 passes. Furthermore, Kroos successfully completed 25 passes in Inter's final third, and attempted 14 long balls.

The German had 114 touches of the ball, and recovered it seven times from the opposition, the fourth highest of any player on the pitch.

It was his finest outing for some time, and Real will need him to maintain this as they try to get their season back on track.
