Sancho back in the XI – How Dortmund could line up against Club Brugge

Jadon Sancho is set to return to the starting line up as Borussia Dortmund get back into Champions League action, welcoming Club Brugge to Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday night.

The 20-year-old watched the entirety of the 5-2 win over Hertha Berlin from the bench but should be welcomed back into the starting XI as Dortmund look to pull away from their competitors in Group F.

Speculation and criticism has surrounded Sancho for much of the early part of this season after his failed move to Manchester United in the summer, but his introduction will undoubtedly be a positive one for Lucien Favre’s side.

One player that certainly has no question marks surrounding his status in the side is Erling Haaland, fresh off a spectacular four-goal haul against Hertha.

That capped off a week in which the Norwegian was named the winner of the European Golden Boy award for the best player under the age of 21 on the continent.

The 20-year-old has already notched four goals in the first three Champions League games to go with his 10 in seven Bundesliga fixtures, continuing his world-beating form from the minute he arrived in Germany.

Favre will have just about a full compliment to choose from when making the line-up with only Marcel Schmelzer ruled out for the clash.

Emre Can has been in superb form as a centre-back in Dortmund’s back three, but Favre has opted for a back four in each of the three previous Champions League clashes, meaning the former Liverpool and Juventus man may get a rest in midweek.

Youngsters Jude Bellingham and Giovanni Reyna could be rotated back into the side as Dortmund will look to back up the 3-0 win they served Brugge in Belgium earlier this month.
