FC Player of the Day, Oct 12: Ruslan Malinovsky (Ukraine)

Ruslan Malinovsky hasn't been a regular in the Atalanta side this season but his performance in Ukraine's 2-0 win over Lithuania in all departments was exemplary.

His first goal involved a superbly-worked one-two before he slid the ball underneath the opposition goalkeeper, but his second was even better, curling a free-kick in superb fashion into the corner to seal a convincing win and qualification for his nation.

But it wasn't just his two goals - Malinovsky was outstanding in every area. He completed four dribbles, had 3/3 shots on target, won four tackles, had an impressive 14 ball recoveries, as well as completing 91 of his 100 passes.

His display led to a standing ovation from the the Ukraine fans and bench. Atalanta are flying high at the moment in Serie A, making it a hard team to get into, but performances as good as this can only help Malinovsky make his mark.
