Hazard to start? How Real Madrid could line up versus Huesca

Paul Macdonald

Eden Hazard made a comeback from injury ahead of schedule to come off the bench in Real Madrid's 2-2 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League in midweek, and Zinedine Zidane may put him straight into the team against Huesca.

The Belgian has been frustrated by injuries since his move to the Spanish capital last summer, but has returned from his latest knock and with Madrid's wide men proving inconsistent so far, a start is likely.

It's still unclear whether the controversy over Karim Benzema allegedly telling Ferland Mendy not to pass the ball to Vinicius was true or not, but the Brazilian's form hasn't been great and so Hazard will take his spot.

On the right Marco Asensio still isn't the player he was before serious injury, but he is the best option on that side, while Karim Benzema will continue to operate through the middle.

In midfield Luka Modric may get a run-out, ahead of Fede Valverde, with Toni Kroos and Casemiro - who scored an excellent goal v Gladbach - starting.

Madrid's main injury crisis continues at right-back, with Alvaro Odriozola, Dani Carvajal and Nacho all out, meaning Lucas Vazquez will continue to deputise on that side.
