Madrid fans choose Valverde over Pogba by landslide margin

Real Madrid fans have voted on who they would prefer in midfield between Fede Valverde and Paul Pogba, with the former winning by a huge margin.

Spanish outlet AS recently conducted the vote on Twitter, with followers asked the question of who they would prefer between the pair.

They were asked to retweet in favour of Pogba, and like in favour of Valverde.

Pogba has, at the time of writing, received 158 retweets, while over 11,000 fans have liked the tweet to endorse Valverde.

Over the past few years, the transfer links between Pogba and Real Madrid have intensified, with the Frenchman risking the ire of the Manchester United fans a few weeks ago by again stating his desire to join the Santiago Bernabeu side at one point in his career.

The move has been mooted a few times, but one of the reasons it hasn't happened yet has been the emergence of Valverde, who has become a key member of Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid squad over the past year.

On Saturday, he was given a starting berth in the Clasico and opened the scoring after just five minutes with a blistering finish into the top left corner.

Pogba, meanwhile, has been struggling to get into the United starting XI in recent weeks.
