Official: Juventus v Napoli postponed as visitors do not attend fixture

Napoli have taken the decision not to travel to Turin for Sunday night's Serie A clash with Juventus, after two players had tested positive for covid-19 and the game has been abandoned.

Rino Gattuso's side were set to face the champions but after the positive tests it was initially reported that Napoli had been banned from travelling for the game.

But it has since transpired that Napoli themselves chose not to travel and so the outcome of the game has been put in serious doubt.

A tweet from Juventus' official account on Saturday made it clear that they are planning to fulfil the fixture and 'will take to the field'.

And the match has subsequently been postponed, meaning there will be discussions over the next few days as to what the consequences will be.

It is likely that the FIGC will decide that Napoli have forfeited the match and will had a 3-0 victory to Juventus, but talks will be ongoing.
