Leeds set to sign Diego Llorente from Real Sociedad
Leeds are poised to complete the signing of Diego Llorente from Real Sociedad for a fee of around £24m.
Head coach Marcelo Bielsa has prioritised defensive recruits since earning promotion to the Premier League, and although a permanent deal for Ben White couldn't be agreed upon with Brighton, they did sign Robin Koch from Freiburg.
It appears that Koch will have a new defensive partner, too, as the Spanish side confirmed via their Twitter page that a fee had been agreed withe Leeds for the transfer of Llorente.
The Spaniard started his professional career with Real Madrid before being sent out on loan to Rayo Vallecano and Malaga.
In 2017 he earned a permanent transfer to Real Sociedad where he has enjoyed a period of success, helping the Basque side to a sixth place finish in the 2019/20 campaign.
Llorente joins fellow Spaniard Rodrigo in having signed for Leeds this summer after the former Benfica forward's £27m move from Valencia.
Leeds have had two matches since moving back to the Premier League - a loss against Liverpool and a win against Fulham.
Their games haven't been lacking in entertainment, either, as no less than 14 goals were scored across the two.
On the opening day, they were defeated 4-3 by Jurgen Klopp's side but followed that up with a 4-3 win against fellow promoted side, Fulham.
