Fourteen new cases of Covid-19 have been reported across 12 Premier League clubs.

At the beginning of this week, various teams reported back for training in preparation for the 2020/21 campaign, including champions Liverpool who have revealed that they have one positive test in their camp.

Joining the Reds in returning to training are Tottenham, Everton, Southampton, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Leicester, Newcastle, Sheffield United, Brighton and newly promoted Leeds.

Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Wolves have not returned yet due to their European and FA Cup exploits respectively, while Fulham are allowing for extra rest after taking part in the Championship playoff.

One of the major worries for the league at the moment is the current socialising between players from different clubs while on holiday, which could result in the spread of the virus across the board in the English top flight.

Declan Rice and Ryan Fredericks of West Ham, and Mason Mount of Chelsea have been seen together in Mykonos, while other Chelsea stars Christian Pulisic, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori have also been revealed to have been on the Greek island.

Dele Alli, Jack Grealish, and James Maddison, meanwhile, were pictured together in Ibiza.

There is no indication as of yet that any of these players have the coronavirus or indeed spread any infection to their respective clubs.

With the new Premier League season set to commence on 12 September, frequent testing will take place between now and then among all 20 clubs each week.
