Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is close to signing a new three-year deal with Arsenal which will end speculation of a potential move away from the Emirates this summer.

The 31-year-old has just entered the last year of his current deal which runs out in the summer of 2021.

With the Gunners failing to live up to expectations this season, FA Cup victory aside, speculation gathered that Aubameyang could potentially leave, with an array of teams reportedly interested in a move.

He has been Arsenal’s best player this season, narrowly finishing second in the race for the golden boot, and had been eager to leave to play Champions League football again.

However, he has been given a boost in salary to £250k a week, as well as assurances from the club that manager Mikael Arteta will be given significant funds to strengthen the squad ahead of the new campaign.

According to Telegraph Sport, it has been verbally agreed that the new contract will be signed in the coming weeks.
