David Beckham and Inter Miami want Luis Suarez for 2021

Inter Miami club president David Beckham is planning a move for Barcelona’s Luis Suarez next summer.

The Uruguayan’s current deal with the Blaugrana runs out a year from now, with the Major League Soccer side keen to snap him up on a lucrative contract following a free transfer.

However, Suarez wants to stay at the Camp Nou and will receive an automatic contract extension should he feature in 60% of more of Barcelona’s matches in the 2020/21 campaign, according to Mundo Deportivo.

When Beckham signed with LA Galaxy in 2007, within his contract was the option to purchase a MLS expansion side for £25m which he eventually took up in 2014 to create Inter Miami.

After several delays, the club finally made its MLS debut in March of 2020 when they lost 1-0 to Los Angeles FC.

It has been a tough start to their new venture as they have lost all five of their competitive matches so far, and are currently bottom of the Eastern Conference.

Despite being 33, Suarez remains a key member of the Barcelona playing squad and contributed to 30 goals across all competitions this season, via 19 goals scored and 11 assists.

This week, Inter Miami completed the signing of Blaise Matuidi from Juventus.
